Desirable Trip Planner (“Trips”) is a private, invite-only trip planning app operated by Desired Studios. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Account details from your sign-in provider (Apple, Google, or GitHub): a unique account ID, your name, email address, and profile photo if the provider shares them. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only receive the relay address.
- Trip information you enter, such as stops, addresses, dates, reservations, costs, and travel preferences, plus anything you share with other trip members.
- Device permissions you grant. Location is used to calculate drive times and show your position; we don't keep a location history. Notification subscriptions let us send trip reminders. Camera and microphone are used only when you choose to take a photo or record audio in the app.
- Basic technical data such as session cookies and your browser's user agent, to keep you signed in and secure your account.
How we use it
- To sign you in and decide what you can access, based on invitations and permissions.
- To plan, display, and share trips with the people you choose.
- To send the reminders and notifications you opt in to.
- To provide maps, routes, pricing estimates, and AI planning help. When you use these features, the relevant trip details are sent to the service providers that power them (for example Google Maps, Anthropic, or Google Gemini).
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
- We only use data from Google, Apple, or GitHub sign-in to identify you in this app.
Sharing
Trip details are visible to the trip's members according to the permissions the trip owner sets, and to anyone holding a guest link the owner creates. Guest links never include costs unless the owner chooses to show them.
Storage and retention
Data is stored on a private server we operate, with daily backups kept for 14 days. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time.
